Maximilian (Max) Pancia was born in Turin in the month of July 1969. After secondary school, he has attended the "First artistic liceo" in Turin getting a high school diploma during the school year 1988/89. Passion for drawing is innate, while that for comics it has developed in the '70s with the television program called first "Gulp!" and after "Supergulp! – I fumetti in TV" [ie, Comics on TV].

His beginnings as a cartoonist took place in high school, on the pages of the monthly parish "Nichelino Comunità" and on the pages of the catholic periodical "Ruah – Il vento". The signing of Max Pancia then appeared in various magazines, local newspapers and fanzines.

In the 1990, for about two years, he has produced several cartoons for the Turin weekly "Piemonte Sportivo".

So there are different competitions which Max took part: among them, we include "Turin - Black Humour" organized by C.A.U.S. (humorous and satirical arts center) in the editions of 1990/91/92, and "Stop the bomb with a balloon" organized by the Municipality and the Office of outh policy of Genoa in the 1996.

Among the expositions dedicated to this artist, we remember that in the June 1994 organized by the Municipality and the office "InformaGiovani" of Nichelino (Turin). Moreover, in the 1997 and 1998 he took part to market-exposition "Torino Comics".

In the 1999, Max has moved to the town of Settimo Torinese. Where, for about eight years, he has contributed with the local weekly "la Nuova" and "la Voce" as a cartoonist and as a reporter.

In the 2001, Max Pancia has produced two short comic stories for "Fiammifero", a bimonthly parish supplement for children. In the 2002, he has also contributed to the drafting of a school diary for the association "Coopi" [ie, International cooperation].

Max is back at school in the autumn of 2007, to attend a training course for Technicians in the multimedial publishing at the vocational training centre "Enaip" of Settimo Torinese.

In the summer of 2009, he has signed a short comic story in five drawing paper for the Turin-based company "Albdesia" of Alberto De Siati. As a webmaster and web designer, Max has but created the site for a car repairer's, for a catering service, for a plumbing and building company and for a butcher & deli shop.

Moving on from comics to graphic arts and from illustrations to cartoons, Max Pancia has thus developed a style of drawing ligne claire (from the french language, a clear line, a particular clean and defined stretch) absolutely original and personal. A versatile artist, he loves the fusion of the heroic - fantasy genre and the humor.

Max's favourite artists are famous and international names, such as Boris Vallejo, Frank Frazetta, Esteban Maroto, J. Scott Campbell and Carlos Meglia. Among the italians there are Magnus ("Alan Ford"), Silver ("Lupo Alberto"), Claudio Villa ("Tex") and Massimiliano Frezzato ("Le lune del Maser") [ie, The moons of Maser].

In the month of October 2011, Max married his girlfriend Patrizia.

In the month of November 2012, he then made his debut with his first literary critical work, "CONOSCERE e AFFRONTARE la DEPRESSIONE" [ie, Knowing and facing the depression] for the types of the publisher Cotroneo. From 2022 the re-edition in eBook Kindle format is also available on the Amazon platform (only italian language).

Two months later, the Turin artist published a second eBook, entitled "I SOGNI fra psichiatria e Bibbia" ["Dreams between psychiatry and the Bible"].

Now, Maximilian (Max) Pancia lives in the town of San Mauro Torinese, where, in addition to dealing with comics, graphic and web sites run if applicable drawings on the walls of children's rooms or public places. But his dream has always been to draw the comic book series "Alan Ford"...
